The mission
of The Copper Ridge Institute is to conduct and evaluate research
and to educate about care practices that involve aging persons.
Meeting this mission will improve the quality of life for
patients and families with Alzheimer's disease and other memory
impairing disorders.
Everyone
associated with long-term care today is familiar with the
impact that longer life spans are having on health care systems
around the world. Along with the staggering numbers of patients
with cognitive impairments, health care professionals are
confronted with caring for patients with Alzheimer's disease
and other memory impairing illnesses. These two factors bring
challenges not faced before, and there are very few proven
methods of care and treatment.
Developing
evidence based care methods, advancing research in the treatment
of Alzheimer's disease, and teaching this new knowledge is
the work of The Copper Ridge Institute.
