

The Copper Ridge Institute is the nation’s premier research and education entity for the evaluation and care of Alzheimer’s patients. The Institute is a joint effort of Copper Ridge, Maryland’s only residential facility specializing in dementia patients, and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Institute faculty are internationally known researchers who continue to develop a Model of Care recognized throughout the United States. They have trained thousands of health care professionals, caregivers, and family members of Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. Mrs. Steele is a nationally recognized expert specializing in the nursing care of persons with cognitive disorders and their families. In addition to serving on numerous editorial boards, she has co-authored many peer reviewed papers on dementia care and research. Her areas of specialty include:
