Biography

Dr. Kozauer graduated from The College of New Jersey and went on to earn his Medical Doctorate (M.D.) from the New Jersey Medical School. He completed his Adult Psychiatry Residency at Georgetown University Hospital where he served as Chief Resident. He then completed a research and clinical fellowship in Neuropsychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins Medical Center.  Dr. Kozauer currently serves as a Medical Officer in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Division of Neurology Products working primarily in the area of emerging Alzheimer’s disease therapeutics and diagnostics.

Dr. Kozauer has served on the faculty of the Johns Hopkins Medical Center’s Department of Psychiatry as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry and Neuropsychiatry through 2010.  Additionally, he also functioned as the Director of Neuropsychiatry at Copper Ridge from 2007-2010.  Dr. Kozauer remains involved with Copper Ridge through both clinical and teaching activities.

Dr. Kozauer has twice won the “String of Pearls” award at Georgetown Medical School voted on by medical students for excellence in teaching. He also has won the Outstanding Resident Educator Award from the Department of Psychiatry at Georgetown.
